The uniqueness of the project
The key innovation of the project was the creation of a single automated payroll ecosystem for a large manufacturing workforce with complex shift-based compensation.
Unlike a standard payroll automation project, the solution had to process different employment models simultaneously, including production workers working in shifts, overtime, night hours, bonuses, temporary employees, and office staff.
The system automatically combines data from attendance terminals, HR records, shift schedules, bonus calculations, and accounting. This allows the payroll team to move from manually collecting and checking data to managing exceptions and approving automatically generated results.
Another important feature was the introduction of automated validation rules that identify discrepancies before payroll is finalized, significantly reducing the risk of incorrect payments.

Borjomi, one of Georgia’s best-known beverage producers, launched a digital transformation project to automate and streamline its payroll process for employees across production facilities, offices, and regional operations.
Previously, payroll preparation required significant manual work. HR and finance teams had to consolidate attendance records, shift schedules, overtime, bonuses, sick leaves, and other employee data from several systems and spreadsheets. This created a high administrative workload and increased the risk of calculation errors and delays.
The new solution created a unified digital payroll process, connecting employee data, attendance, working schedules, compensation rules, and accounting. Payroll calculations are now generated automatically based on verified data, while exceptions and unusual transactions are highlighted for HR specialists before payment.
The project covered more than 1,500 employees and was implemented without disrupting monthly salary payments.
